You may wonder what this web site is all about. Well, the title, 'Phx 60s bands' gives you a good clue! It's all about a wonderful, exciting period of time in Phoenix during the heyday of early rock & roll bands. We're talking about the local bands, and the teen clubs, and the people. You had to have been there to appreciate what this is all about. But, if you were there then you know exactly what I mean! It was raw energy and talent and excitement! The Beatles and the Rolling Stones paved the way for an explosion of bands in England and American. This was the first time bands not only played the music, but they also wrote it as well! Each band was a creative self-contained unit. Well, Phoenix was right there in it too! The clubs that had the local bands drew in fans who had never really heard a live band before and doing the popular songs of the day. It was an event! |
